I already own one of Uzuri’s skins and have even worn it in a blog entry, so I was rather happy when Bella Bombast, the designer behind Uzuri sent me a folder with some of her creations. She said my blog was one of her favourites and she had the bad habit to send review copies to her favourite bloggers.

Jez is the newest skin from Uzuri – although new is relative. It’s been out for a little while. I first found out about Uzuri when I was looking for ethnic skins. Every once in a while I get tired of the pale, gothic skins and want something different, and out of all the ethnic skins Uzuri’s are my favourite.

Jez comes in two versions – nude and smoky eyemakeup. There are six different lipsticks for each of these. Single skins cost 990 L$, and a fatpack of six skins is 4.490 L$. Each skin comes with and without a hairbase.

I like Jez’ face. It’s pretty and different from the other skins I own (and I own a lot of skins). I’m just not sure about the glossy lipsticks. They look more red/pink mixed with white than glossy to me . There are other designers who do glossy better, but all in all it’s a skin I’d recommend.

Daria has actually been released a couple of days ago, but I only found out about this skin when I was visiting Skin Fair yesterday evening. It’s the first skin from Beauty Avatar that looks good on my shape.

Daria comes in two skintones – natural and light – and ten different makeups. While I’m not particularly fond of makeup #05 for example (the cheeks are too red!), I quite like some of the more neutral ones (#01 is my favourite).

I’ve decided to blog the light skintone because that’s my favourite. It has a soft golden glow and looks quite nice with blonde hair.

The face on Daria is quite pretty, and the body looks good as well as far as I could see. They are not as detailled as on the PXL skin I reviewed earlier though.

Single skins cost 999 L$, and the fatpack with all ten skins is 4.999 L$. Unfortunately there are no options. You get exactly one skin, no different brows, no “push up” option, no freckles. There are a lot of other designers that already include those things, but all in all it’s a nice skin.

I had the pleasure of going to Skin Fair a day early and preview all the skins without the lag that is bound to happen this evening (Skin Fair starts at 12 pm SLT). One of the skins that caught my attention was July by PXL. I own a few of the older PXL skins, but this is definitely my favourite. I think it really suits my shape.

July is only going to be available in three skintones at Skin Fair because Hart didn’t have time to finish the other two. You can only buy NAT, SK and LT which is a pity. I think Hart really excels at making dark skins. I hope he’s going to release the remaining two skintones soon!

You have the option of different eyebrows and freckles and ”push up” and there are a couple of different makeups. They are all very nice, but I miss crazier, colourful makeup like Gala does them.

What I especially like about July’s face are the lips and the area around the eyes.

As you can see the body’s lovely. I didn’t notice any flaws there.

Single skins cost 1.000 L$, and there are five different fatpacks available: Nude Eyes, Cat Eyes, Smoke Eyes, Dark Eyes and Spring Eyes.  Each fatpack costs 5.000 L$. There’s also the option of making custom fatpacks so that you can choose what you want. There’s a 20% discount on that. You can also send the skins as a gift, and there’s a redelivery option.

Mr. Crow is BALACLAVA!!’s contribution to Designers United II. It’s one of the few outfits for men. Of course I had to get it for my male avatar. I’m wearing it without the hat though because I couldn’t fit my hair under the hat, and I didn’t particularly like the hat either.

LeLutka recently released the Eclat skins. I don’t like Minnu’s older skins – London, Moscow, Zero etc. – at all, and I don’t care much about the paler Eclat skins either, but the Jade tone is simply beautiful, and I’ve found that the eyebrows that seem to be this skin’s main problem for a lot of people don’t look bushy with the right settings. I think I’m going to wear Eclat at least for another couple of weeks. I’m suddenly not interested in the pale goth look anymore.

My hair is from Truth, one of today’s new releases, and my glasses are Tres Blah’s 50 Linden Friday item. Those glasses are what inspired today’s outfit. I wanted something cute, feminine and a little old fashioned.

Winter has begun in my part of the world. We had the first snow yesterday, and I suddenly felt the need to dress my avatar in a coat even though it’s never cold in SL. Kats Coat from artilleri was releases ages ago, but it’s still one of my favourite coats. My shoes are from Pixel Mode that had a sale recently, and my skin is a freebie from Vive9. I think Cailyn is my favourite skin from Vive9 so far.

I discovered Rozoregalia during Jewelry Expo this year. I didn’t buy anything then, but the store had already caught my interest. Today I wanted to dress my avatar in one of the elegant gowns from Sascha’s Designs, but I couldn’t find the right hair or the right jewelry for it. I suddenly remembered Rozoregalia, TPed there, demoed a hair and immediately bought it (I still haven’t decided which jewelry I’m going to take).

At 400 L$ the Vanitas Hair is rather expensive. The folder contains a hair pin and the hair in two sizes, but I still think the price is above average. Usually I rarely spend more than 200 – 250 L$ on a hair in a single color. The Vanitas Hair is very well made though, and it was just the style I was looking for.

Right now Rozoregalia only seems to have two hairs in the store. I hope they are going to release more. While the price is a little high, the hair is definitely beautiful.
