Review: Zanzo

Zanzo already caught my attention a while ago. If you read my blog, you’ll know that I prefer more androgynous skins. I don’t really like facial hair (apart from eyebrows) or a lot of muscles. For that reason I’ve worn eXceSs for the past … year?

As I wrote, Zanzo already caught my attention a while ago, but for some reason I forgot all about those skins and continued to wear my old, trusted eXceSs ones. When Theodore DuCasse, the designer behind Zanzo, released a new line of skins, I remembered again …

He was kind enough to send me a few review copies. Theodore must have read my mind when he gave them to me. While I prefer androgynous skins, I don’t really wear makeup, just a bit of eyeliner when I’m in an emo or goth mood. And I love freckles!

First I’d like to present Thedore’s new skin line to you: The Alpha skins. He released a couple of skintones: Saxon, Parthian, Iberian, Nubian, Saxon being the lightest and Nubian the darkest. Each skin comes in a version with bodyhair and without bodyhair and costs 1.200 L$. Fatpacks are 8.650 L$, and demos are available.

The Alpha skins are more mature and masculine than the previous skins Theodore released (the Seraphim that I’m writing about below) so you won’t find a lot of makeup options, but merely different styles of facial hair, a bit of eyeliner etc.

Here I’m wearing Saxon. While it’s the lightest skin in the Alpha line, it’s still a bit darker than I normally like my skins, but that’s the only point of criticism I have. I rather like it. I’m only showing the face here because I’m not sure if naked bodies are allowed on the feeds …

Unlike the Alpha skins, the Seraphim skins (Gabriel, Raphael, Zerachiel, Michael) are rather androgynous. When my avatar wears them, he looks like a teenager! You won’t find any facial hair on them, but a lot of colourful makeups, green and red and pink eyeshadow. What I especially like about those skins are the lips …

The Seraphim also cost 1.200 L$ per skin. Fatpacks are 14.400 L$ because there are 15 versions of each skintone.

Again I’m wearing the lightest skintone (Gabriel).

Zanzo also has eyes (which I’m wearing in this blog post) clothes (which I’m showing below) and shoes (which I’m not showing). My favourite piece of clothing is probably the Tokugawa shirt (the black shirt in the first picture). It’s exactly the style of shirt I like!

All in all Zanzo is a store that is worth visiting (if you aren’t looking for uber-masculine hairy male skins or the clothes that go with them), and this is my honest opinion and not in any way influenced by the fact that I’ve received review copies!

  1. OMG-the freckly Seraphim one is just…whoah. I need that. I don’t care if it’s for my female avi or her male alt, it has freckles and looks gorgeous! (It also makes your avi look absolutely cute!)
